Why choose Washed and Delivered?
Why is a biodegradable Liner used?
Our one-way liners allow moisture to pass through into the nappy, but prevent it seeping back. The liners retain solids to prevent soiling of the nappy. The liners are biodegradable and are safe to flush away without harming the environment.
Are Washed and Delivered reusable nappies easy to use?
Washed and Delivered reusable nappies are designed to be quick and easy to use. Once you have used them a few times and have developed a daily routine you will be able to change your baby quickly.
The Washed and Delivered covers have button style fasteners that are easy and convenient to use.
How many nappies do I need?
The number of nappies you need will depend on how often you are going to wash the nappies. Normally nappies are washed every 3rd day.
Overall Washed and Delivered cotton nappies tend to be more absorbent than terry nappies and less bulky. Nappy covers provide a softer, more comfortable fit than traditional plastic pants.
We recommend:
24 nappies of one size (available in sizes ex small, small, medium, and large)
?????? Washing Powder, a bucket and a laundry bag are also useful, but not essential.
Please note that all parents’ and babies’ needs are different and you may need more or less nappies and covers depending on your circumstances. It is important that you have enough nappies and covers so that you do not run out, as washing small quantities of nappies is not cost effective.
Will my child suffer nappy rash because of using these nappies?
Studies* have shown that your child is five times more likely to suffer from nappy rash if you use disposable nappies rather than cotton. This is because of the fact that many disposables feel dry when in fact the nappy is wet. Nappy rash can be caused by a number of things such as illness/diarrhoea, teething, food-allergies/new types of food, baby wipes/creams, nappy changing procedure and residual particles of regular washing powder in nappies.

How do they compare with terry nappies in terms of performance, comfort and fit?
Overall cotton nappies tend to be more absorbent than terry nappies and less bulky. Nappy covers provide a softer, more comfortable fit than traditional plastic pants.
Will the cotton nappies leak?
The covers have button style fasteners to make them quick and simple to use and to allow adjustment to suit the shape of each baby plus the covers have elasticated leg cuffs and a back waist to ensure a snug fit and help prevent leaks. It is important to use the correct size cover for your baby and use the most appropriate fold to minimise the possibility of leakage.

Are the nappies bulky?
Cotton nappies are less bulky than terry nappies and slightly more bulky than disposables. However, when disposables are wet they tend to swell up more, due to the absorbency of the moisture retaining chemicals inside, than reusable nappies.
How often will I need to change the nappies?
The nappy will need to be changed every 2-4 hours, this depends on how much the baby wets. Real nappy users prefer to change their baby more frequently whereas there is a temptation for disposable nappy users to leave longer periods between changes.
How long will my products take to arrive after ordering?
The products should arrive within 2-3 days of ordering, but can take up a week in some cases.
